{\noindent Gentlemen:}

I would like to formally resign from the University Club and put my
membership (546) up for sale effective as soon as permitted by your rules.
Will you please advise me as to when this resignation becomes effective.

It is with some feeling of regret that I do this, since I have enjoyed the
associations that membership brings.  Unfortunately, my participation in
the club activities has dwindled until I now do little more than attend
the Round Table luncheons on Wednesdays.  It seems that I will have to
discontinue even this.

When the recent assessment was made to upgrade the kitchen, I went along
with the cost and I put up with the inconvenience of not coming on
Wednesdays for the extended period required for the work, this in the
expectation that all would be well once the kitchen was back in service.
I now find, quite the contrary, that only buffet service is available on
Wednesdays and that this situation is likely to continue.  I have tried
to go along with this limitation but all too often I have difficulty in
finding food that meets my restricted dietary requirements.  My only
recourse is to resign.
